This is a remodel, to accommodate the thickness of the new window we needed to extend the forming out from the building. We wanted the framing to be protected from the weather so we used zip system stretch tape, attaching it from the inside of the opening and stretching it around onto the plywood with no gaps, so when water eventually gets between the window and the framing it will hit the tape and drain out instead of leaking into the wood and rotting.

A 16x24ft deck made with timber tech’s legacy pecan color decking, we went for a simple look so we used fascia board on the outside of the deck to cover up the edge. We used hidden deck clips and cortex screw-plug system to hide the fasteners that keep the deck together so it looks minimal and flawless.

It was time for this deck to be restrained, so we masked around the post bases and edges of the house. We wanted to make sure the color and stain came out cleanly so we applied two coats of Cabot Naturals Stain.

A fresh coat of paint sprayed onto a set of cabinet doors at the spray booth in our shop, having the ability to get some things painted at our shop is nice and convenient.

Old vents tend to have a wider mesh screen, and if they are damaged it can raise the risk of your house being ignited by a wildfire. About 90% of houses that are burnt down in a wildfire are caused by embers flying and igniting the building from the inside, so we installed Vulcan vents since they have smaller gaps, and used intumescent caulking to seal it. Intumescent caulking is amazing for sealing the vents because it expands under heat sealing the vent even better meaning

We used 4x4 pressure treated posts and 2x8 pressure treated joists to support the raised planer beds, using recycled redwood decking to keep everything inside. We lined the bottom with two inches of stone, a weed cloth and planting soil, because its off the ground there are less weeds and gophers cannot get into it we also put in an automatic watering system.

The posts and beams for this overhang had gotten grey and the stain was all worn out, so we used a wire brush to scrape off the old stain and to open up the wood pores and stained it. We used cabot natural wood tone and sealer for the stain.

We used Sylvanix decking boards, they have 3 grooves on top and many more on the backside of the board. We put all the decking boards on, one thing that is nice about them is that you can turn them over to use for no slip stairs, overall its a nice sturdy composite deck board.

The client wanted a shelf she could put on top of their washer and dryer, they asked for a piece of plywood with cutouts for the shutoff valves so that it would fit properly. We did some edge banding around the piece of ACX plywood and used rubio mono coat 2c along with putting silicone feet on the bottom so that it would stay still and not scratch anything.

These are custom shelves that we made for a client, they had some extra western red cedar in the garage so they wanted us to use it to create shelves for them. The wood was in its rough state so we had to mill and finish it, we used rubio mono coat 2c pure for the coat, we only ended up needing to do one coating of it because of how smoothly it went on.

The client hired us to make a custom shed to air out their wood. We designed it to have one and a half inch gaps between the planks so that the air would circulate better to dry it all out and so that the moisture wouldn’t get trapped and giving it an overhang on the roof to keep the rain out. We were able to do more than half the work of building this shed at the shop, including the walls and staining. This made it really easy to just take it out to the clients house, finish

The client wanted a new coat of stain on the parts of the deck that had the most sun exposure since it had worn out the stain already, we swept it off and put masking tape around the area and worked from the places closest to the door outwards. The stain we used was Cabot wood toned stain and sealer on western red cedar decking.

At the entry to the building the fascia had developed rot, this is because some moisture got through the edge flashing, so we needed to cut out the flashing which had to be custom ordered, and replace both the edge flashing and fascia. We repainted and reinstalled both.

We were hired to replace this client's old cabinets, she wanted back to back cabinets above the stovetop. The issue was that the soffit was not wide enough to fit the new cabinets, so we ripped out the old soffit and replaced it, making sure to match the drywall texture and painting the soffit. We put in the new cabinets and painted the whole kitchen to help it feel updated along with the cabinets.

During this month we installed the countertops, gutter, and finished up all the insulating. We have updated the bathrooms and are installing the new hardware in them, now all that is left is to finish up the exterior staining and some painting.

The deck is finished and is just waiting on staining, the front step is getting finished up, and the doorknobs and pulls for the kitchen have been installed and the kitchen is prepped for putting the new countertop in. We made sure to have the deck graded for water, ice and snow melt so that it won’t rot it out.

We continued to wrap up the deck under structure, the flooring inside has started installation and while we were replacing the siding we noticed that a water line had frozen then broke once it warmed up. The doorknobs and pulls for the kitchen cabinets are coming soon and they will be installed as soon as possible.

Prep for the kitchen and bathroom renovations is underway, we are finishing up with the places that needed insulation to be redone and putting sheetrock over it. The pumphouse is all painted and the siding has been stained to match the rest of the siding on the house, the fireplace has been taken out. The siding repair around the master window is progressing well, and the interior painting has started and should be completed soon.

Electrical and water lines were put in, and are about to be covered and graded over. The garage skirt has been finished, all of the trims and window sills have been created which will be put in soon. The pump house has electricity and has the insulation and sheet rock all finished, mini-split and insulated lines have been put in along with the windows in the living room. A few more windows have been framed and will be put in soon.

We started wrapping the drywall around the windows along with the first coat of skim painting. The road was worked on to allow access to the well head so it could be worked on, we also prepped the flooring so that the plumber and electrician could do their work. In the process we also filled in the pond and insulated all the windows and started putting in the corner beads.
