Fire Safe Vent

Old vents tend to have a wider mesh screen, and if they are damaged it can raise the risk of your house being ignited by a wildfire. About 90% of houses that are burnt down in a wildfire are caused by embers flying and igniting the building from the inside, so we installed Vulcan vents since they have smaller gaps, and used intumescent caulking to seal it. Intumescent caulking is amazing for sealing the vents because it expands under heat sealing the vent even better meaning the embers have less of a chance of getting in.
